A device (100) for aeration of and separation of carbon dioxide from a fluid, e.g. water in fish farming, is described. The device comprises at least one grid-shaped screen (101), with openings (102) suitable to let the fluid pass through them and to contact the surrounding gas, e.g. air. According to the corresponding method, the device is used for aeration and removal of carbon dioxide from the fluid.
