PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a labor and time for positioning, while avoiding collision with a device projecting from a subject.SOLUTION: According to one embodiment, an X-ray diagnostic apparatus includes a couch, an imaging unit, image generation means, setting means, and control means. The couch includes a couch top on which a subject lies. The imaging unit includes an X-ray generator, an X-ray detector, and holding means. The holding means movably holds the X-ray generator and the X-ray detector. The image generation means generates an X-ray image of the subject, on the basis of an output of the X-ray detector. The setting means sets a first interference determination area including a device projecting from the subject, on the basis of an image of the device included in the X-ray image.
