PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method or a device for measuring light interference which secures measurement precision in a lateral direction and a wide measurement range in a depth direction regardless of configuration of an interference optical system, and concurrently acquires plural pieces of length information which requires different measurement precision, in a light interference technology for performing Fourier analysis of information dependent on frequency to acquire the distance or tomographic information of a subject.SOLUTION: The method for measuring light interference is provided in which a luminous flux having a continuous spectrum is emitted, the emitted luminous flux is separated into measurement light and reference light, the reflected light of the measurement light reflected from a measurement object is multiplexed with the reference light, interference light of the multiplexed reflected light and the reference light is detected as an interference signal of a frequency area, and the distance in the depth direction or tomographic information of the measurement object is acquired by performing Fourier analysis of the detected interference signa.
