PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating eye diseases or disorders by the administration of a non-retinoid visual cycle modulator.SOLUTION: The invention provides an oral pharmaceutical formulation for use in the treatment of age-related macular degeneration, the oral pharmaceutical formulation containing non-retinoid compound (R)-3-amino-1-(3-(cyclohexylmethoxy) phenyl) propan-1-ol represented by the following formula in a single oral dose of 4-100 mg； wherein the single oral dose is administered (i) every day, (ii) every 2 days, or (iii) every 3 days； and the single oral dose causes less than 50% of a normalized electroretinogram response in a period of 4-36 hours after the plasma concentration of the compound decreases to 0.3 C.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1【課題】非レチノイド視覚サイクルモジュレーターを投与による眼科疾患又は障害を処置する方法の提供。【解決手段】下記式で表される非レチノイド化合物（Ｒ）－３－アミノ－１－（３－（シクロヘキシルメトキシ）フェニル）プロパン－１－オールを４～１００ｍｇの単回経口投与量で含み、該単回経口投与量が（ｉ）毎日、（ｉｉ）２日毎、又は（ｉｉｉ）３日毎に投与され、該単回経口投与量が、該化合物の血漿濃度が０．３Ｃｍａｘに減少した後４～３６時間の期間に５０％未満の正規化網膜電図応答をもたらす、加齢黄斑変性の治療に使用するための経口医薬製剤。【選択図】図１
