PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation image photographing apparatus capable of obtaining a good X-ray image where the contrast of a marginal region part of a cartilaginous tissue or the like of a human body is emphasized by using a Talbot interferometry or Talbot-Lau interferometry.SOLUTION: A radiation image photographing apparatus includes: an X-ray tube 8 a subject bed 12 a plurality of grids 15 and an X-ray detector 17. The plurality of grids 15 are relatively moved to perform photographing two or more times, and an image of a photographing part of a subject is reconstructed on the basis of a plurality of generated images. The X-ray tube 8, the subject bed 12, the plurality of grids 15 and the X-ray detector 17 are arranged so that an irradiation direction of an X-ray irradiated from the X-ray tube 8 through the subject bed 12 and the plurality of grids 15 to the X-ray detector 17 is vertical to a floor surface.
