The fly cutter (1) has a recess arranged in a system corner region that is enclosed by a cutter arm (2). The recess is inclined opposite to a radial contact surface (6) at an opening angle. Deflector surfaces contact opposite to a plane of an upper side of the cutter and form deflector edges at a rear side of the cutter, where the rear side lies at the contact surface. The deflector edges are inclinedly arranged opposite to the upper side of the cutter at an inclination angle and opposite to a lower side of the cutter at another inclination angle.
