The invention relates to a device which has been designed to facilitate and improve the cleaning and bathing of a person that cannot take care of his/herself, without said person having to be moved as is standard practice, i.e., such that the person stays in the inventive bed at all times. The inventive bed essentially comprises a base structure with wheels which supports un upper bed assembly, the height of which can be adjusted such that it can be disposed in the desired horizontal plane in a stable manner, a lower bed assembly (3) which can be pulled out at least from one side of the base structure (1) and a height-adjustable bath assembly (4) which is always positioned below the upper bed (2) in order to collect water and excrement after the patient lying on the upper bed (2) has been cleaned and bathed.
