PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide agents useful for preventing and improving hyperuricemia and gout, containing a novel active ingredient derived from natural products.SOLUTION: Provided is a blood uric acid level reducing agent comprising a Brassica plant or the extract of Brassica plant as an active ingredient. Also provided is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor containing a Brassica plant or the extract of Brassica plant as an active ingredient. Kale is illustrated as a Brassica plant. Preferably, the agent of the present invention is administered orally and is a food composition.
