Disclosed is an oral care composition including (i) a calcium-based abrasive (ii) a polyethylene glycol having an average molecular weight ranging from about 1500 to about 6000 daltons (iii) an anti-bacterial agent and (iv) an orally acceptable vehicle. Methods of preparing the oral care composition and using the oral care composition to promote oral health are also disclosed.
