PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transplanter capable of reliably forming relatively deep planting holes corresponding to seedling transplant of a specified kind such as a tobacco seedling, and planting seedlings and the like without affecting a mulch film covering a ridge surface.SOLUTION: A transplanter is configured to travel on a farm field, supporting a planting part 19 on a machine body which is configured to be able to travel on the farm field, and to be able to form planting holes and place planting objects to the planting holes. The planting part 19 comprises: a hole forming tool 51 which is supported to lift up and down and capable of forming holes by thrusting into a ridge surface U and a dropping tool 52 for dropping the planting objects to prescribed positions. The hole forming tool 51 is composed of a thrusting part 51a with a cone apex T as a lower end and a trunk 51b, on the upper side of the thrusting part 51a, having a side surface steeper than the side surface of the thrusting part 51a. By supporting the hole forming tool 51 to be rotationally driven around its center axis, the planting part 19 can efficiently thrust into soil, solidify a wall surface on the opening end side of the planting hole by the rotation of the trunk 51b, and stably plant the planting objects.
