The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating liver damage caused by alcohol containing proteins separated from laver. Proteins isolated from steams according to the present invention reduce plasma GOT and GPT, which are increased by alcohol, and decrease the activity of caspase cascade, phosphate-JNK, phosphate-p38, iNOS and COX-2 in liver tissues, GSH-px and CAT, which are known to be involved in the inhibition of hepatic toxicity, are excellent in the effect of inhibiting hepatic tissue damage and inflammation caused by alcohol, and thus can be usefully used for preventing or treating liver damage .본 발명은 김으로부터 분리된 단백질을 포함하는 알코올에 의한 간 손상 예방 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 김으로부터 분리된 단백질은 알코올에 의해 증가하는 혈장 GOT 및 GPT를 감소시키고, 간 조직의 카스파아제 캐스캐이드, 인산-JNK, 인산-p38, iNOS 및 COX-2 활성을 감소시키며, 간 독성을 억제하는데 관여한다고 알려진 GSH, GSH-px 및 CAT의 활성을 증가시킴으로써 알코올에 의한 간 조직의 손상 및 염증을 억제하는 효과가 우수하므로, 이를 간 손상의 예방 또는 치료에 유용하게 이용할 수 있다.
