PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope in which a bending portion and a soft portion of the insertion section thereof are firmly and detachably joined to each other.SOLUTION: A connection ring 29 on a distal side of a soft portion 12 is internally fitted to a proximal piece 20a on a soft-portion side of a bending portion 11. The proximal piece 20a is provided with an introduction portion 217a axially extending from an end of the proximal piece 20a, and a notch 217 having an engaging portion 217b in connection with the introduction portion 217a and extending circumferentially. The connection ring 29 on the distal side of the soft portion is provided with a protrusion 201 formed integrally with the connection ring 29 and received in the engaging portion 217b of the notch 217.
