PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stretchable structure excellent in breathability and flexibility and allowing more neatly shaped pleats to be formed.SOLUTION: A stretchable structure for a disposable wearing article has elongated elastic members 19 arranged between an outer nonwoven fabric layer 12S and an inner nonwoven fabric layer 12H. The outer nonwoven fabric layer 12S is a porous 14 nonwoven fabric in which pores 14 extending therethrough in the thickness direction are arranged. Sheet joining parts 70 joining the outer nonwoven fabric layer 12S and the inner nonwoven fabric layer 12H are formed in a striped pattern spaced in a perpendicular direction XD and substantially continued in a stretch direction ED. The pores 14 are arranged such that pore columns 91, 92 spaced in the perpendicular direction XD repeatedly alternate at predetermined central intervals in the stretch direction. In the first pore columns 91, the diameters of the pores 14 gradually become smaller from one end toward the other of the thickness direction.
