A sensor device (10), a catheter (100) including such a sensor device (10) and a method of operating such a catheter for use in catheter-based treatments of microcardial microvascular obstruction by infusion of fluids having protective agents into vasculature. The catheter device (100) may include a first lumen (3) configured for advancement over a guidewire and for passage of fluid having protective agents after removal of the guidewire and a second lumen (2') for inflation of an angioplasty balloon (7) and can further include a temperature and/or pressure sensor (10) mounted on the catheter body. Such a catheter device (100) can further include use of a distal occlusive membrane (8) between the angioplasty balloon and a distal end to facilitate infusion into microvasculature. The occlusive membrane (8) can be deployed by relative movement of concentric channels (4,6), thereby reducing the need for an additional lumen while optimizing the size of the catheter device and lumens.
