The invention relates to the field of ophthalmology. A portable device for examining visual functions consists of a virtual reality headset having a display, a computer for forming a point of fixation, successively presenting patterns and recording examination results, an oculograph for monitoring the position of the line of gaze, and an apparatus coordinated therewith for shifting the coordinate grid of patterns presented for the examined eye. The display is divided into two isolated fields by an optically opaque partition. The computer is equipped with software for generating the necessary patterns and visual images on the basis of a given algorithm, a feedback device, devices that make it possible to record, analyze, archive, reproduce, and compare the results of an examination for creating a map of existing visual impairments, providing a picture of existing changes in the subjects system of visual and cognitive perception, and printing out the results that are obtained. The device is fitted with sound-reproduction apparatuses and a mechanism for changing the distance from the apex of the cornea to the display. The device makes it possible to obtain adequate examination results in the absence of the stable fixation of gaze, during involuntary and voluntary movements of the eyeball and in the case of rapid patient fatigue and loss of concentration on the fixation point.Linvention se rapporte au domaine de lophtalmologie.
