PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifuge bowl for continuous separation of whole blood. A continuous flow centrifuge bowl (110) includes a rotatable outer body (120) and upper and lower cores (140,160) rotatable with the outer body. The lower core has a wall extending proximally from the bottom wall. The proximally extending wall is radially outward from at least a portion of the upper core and together with the upper core defines a first separation region 170 in which initial separation of whole blood occurs. The bowl also has a second separation region 115 located between the upper core and the outer body, and a rotary seal 210 connecting the inlet 190 and the two outlets 220, 230 to the outer body. The inlet is connected to an inflow tube that extends distally to the whole blood introduction area. One of the outlets is connected to an extraction tube 225 that extends into the area below the lower core.
