On the basis of information of an XY-alignment reference location determined by XY-alignment reference location determining means (Q7) and of optical information in a Z-direction sensed by a Z-direction location observation photoreceptor element (44), relative location of the illumination optical system (14) and the cornea imaging optical system (20) is controlled with respect to the examined eye (E), and an image of the corneal endothelium of the examined eye (E) are photographed. A cornea imaging method is also disclosed.
