PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To capture an occlusive substance such as a thrombus in a thinner living body vessel part, in a guide wire used for medical treatment of the thrombus or the like.SOLUTION: This guide wire 20 includes: a root part connected with a rotating mechanism a body part 24 which is inserted into an axial-direction through-hole of a catheter 10, and is movable in the axial direction and rotatable around the axis and a tip part 28 wherein a portion of a predetermined axial-direction length is slenderly divided into a plurality of portions by slits or the like along the axial direction in an end part of the body part 24. The guide wire 20 is made of a shape-memory alloy material imparted with hyperelasticity.
