PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food package heating method capable of preventing spark occurrence caused by steam generating in dielectric heating of a food package, explosion and deformation of a container by swelling, and deformation of food caused by excessive press in order to oppose swelling pressure.SOLUTION: The food package heating method comprises bringing electrodes 21 and 21 into contact with a part in which a food 3 of a hermetically sealed food package 1 is placed so as to apply a high-frequency electric field and dielectrically heat the part, and bringing a cooling member 12 into contact with an unheated package part 4 in which the food 3 is not placed so as to cool the part.
