PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently transfer and store image data.
SOLUTION: A transmission part 1b reads out image data stored in an image data storage part 1a and sets the total size of the image data in a management part of the image data which has been read out. The transmission part 1b transmits the data in the management part in which the total size of the image data is set to a medical image storage device. When an error message is not returned from the medical image storage device after the transmission of the data in the management part (or when a free space is secured in the medical image storage device), the transmission part 1b reads out the image data from the image data storage part 1a and transfers it to the medical image storage device.
