PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent-styling method for hair capable of creating long-lasting permanent styles for hair without damaging hair or having an adverse effect on the skin.SOLUTION: The permanent-styling method for hair of the present invention comprises i) hair elongation treatment of elongating the hair by wetting the hair with water then heating the hair with far-infrared radiation, ii) hair transformation holding treatment of holding the hair in a transformed state by applying a hair swelling solution to the elongated hair, and after transforming the hair to a prescribed style, and heating with far-infrared radiation with the hair in the transformed state thereby maintaining the transformed state of the hair, and iii) washing out the hair swelling solution from the hair after transformation and carrying out hair dry-shrinkage treatment of fixing the hair in the transformed state by drying and shrinking the hair by heating the hair with a dryer.
