PURPOSE: A composition containing Moutan Radicis Cortex extract is provided to prevent or treat liver diseases without toxicity and side effect. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing or treating liver diseases contains Moutan Radicis Cortex extract. The extract is isolated using low alcohol of C1-C4 or mixture solvent thereof. The low alcohol is methanol, ethanol, or butanol. The liver diseases include hepatitis, hepatotoxicity, fatty liver, liver cirrhosis, alcoholic liver diseases, or liver cancer. The composition additionally contains pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. A food composition for treating liver diseases contains the composition as an active ingredient.본 발명은 목단피(Moutan RadicisCortex) 추출물을 포함하는 간질환 예방 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 또한 본 발명은 목단피 추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 간질환 개선용 식품 조성물에 관한 것이다.
