PURPOSE: A composition containing Moutan radicis cortex extract is provided to suppress reduction of TH, dopamine, and DOPAC and to suppress iNOS and COX-2 expression. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing and treating Parkinson's disease contains Moutan radicis cortex extract as an active ingredient. The extract is isolated using water, low alcohol of C-C4, or mixture thereof. A neutraceutical food for preventing and treating Parkinson's disease contains the extract as an active ingredient. A method for preparing the extract comprises: a step of pulverizing Moutan radicis cortex； a step of isolating the Moutan radicis cortex using water, alcohol, or mixture thereof； a step of filtering the extract； and a step of decompressing and freeze-drying.본 발명은 목단피 추출물을 함유하는 파킨슨병 예방 및 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로서, 보다 상세하게는 물, 알코올 또는 이들의 혼합물을 용매로 하여 추출된 목단피 추출물이 MPTP로 유도된 도파민 신경세포 손상을 억제함으로써, 목단피 추출물을 파킨슨병 예방 및 치료용 조성물 또는 건강식품에 유용하게 이용할 수 있다.
