The present invention discloses a novel broad-spectrum β-lactamase inhibitor compound. The structure of the compound is represented by formula (I). An investigation studying the effects of the compound provided by the invention on the activities of six types of β-lactamase from four categories revealed that the compound suppressed an activity of multiple types of β-lactamases. The compound also strongly inhibited, when combined with a β-lactamase antibiotic, the growth of various β-lactamase-producing bacteria. The compound can be developed into a pharmaceutical product with the ability to restore an anti-bacterial activity of a β-lactamase antibiotic, thereby treating and preventing a bacterial infection in an animal or human subject, and providing significant social and economic benefits.La présente invention concerne un nouveau composé inhibiteur de la ß-lactamase à large spectre. La structure du composé est représentée par la formule (I). Une recherche étudiant des effets du composé de l'invention sur les activités de six types de ß-lactamases provenant de quatre catégories a révélé que le composé supprimait une activité de multiples types de ß-lactamases. Le composé inhibait également fortement, lorsqu'il était combiné à un antibiotique à base de ß-lactamase, la croissance de diverses bactéries produisant de la ß-lactamase. Le composé peut être mis au point en un produit pharmaceutique ayant la capacité de restaurer une activité antibactérienne d'un antibiotique à base de ß-lactamase, ce qui permet de traiter et de prévenir une infection bactérienne chez un sujet animal ou humain et d'apporter des avantages sociaux et économiques significatifs.
