A pumpable liquid spray formulation for retarding degradation of color cosmetics, the pumpable liquid spray formulation being characterized by:the presence of at least one encapsulated evaporative cooling agent andat least one entrained solventand the absence of fluorocarbon-based evaporative cooling agents,whereby the reduction of the surface temperature of the color cosmetics is achieved by a controlled release of the entrained solvents by the at least one encapsulated evaporative cooling agent.
