PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out the screening of compounds giving disease resistant activity to plants by treating the plants with a test compound followed by extracting proteins and then detecting the protein containing a specific amino acid sequence from the proteins. SOLUTION: This is a method for screening compounds giving disease resistant activity to plants. The compound capable of giving disease resistance against rice blast disease, bacterial blight or the like to plants is screened by treating the plants (e.g. Oryza sativa L. and the like) with a test compound, extracting proteins from the plants treated with this test compound, detecting the protein containing the amino acid sequence represented by formula I or II or the protein having the function substantially identical to this protein on the extracted proteins, judging whether the test compound induces the expression of the protein or not and selecting the compound that the expression of the protein is judged to be induced.
