PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spawning apparatus which shortens the travel distance and the travel time of a cap necessary to bring into a state where the cap is evacuated to an evacuation area, thereby lessening the possibility of contamination to a culture medium in a culture vessel in a state where the cap is removed.SOLUTION: An evacuation area 20B is set at a position being a lateral side of a culture vessel 90 with respect to an opening part 90A of the culture vessel 90. Attaching or removing a cap 91 is achieved by the rotation of a first arm 12 which moves the cap 91 in a height direction and a lateral direction of the culture vessel 90.
