The control method for the ion generator for a vehicle air conditioner comprises the steps of: determining whether a rear filter is located in the passage inside an air conditioner case and increasing the output voltage of the ion generator arranged upstream of the rear filter in the flowing direction of the air when the rear filter is located in the passage inside the air conditioning case (110) in accordance with the determination step. Therefore, the lifespan of the rear filter of the evaporator can be expanded, and the rear filter can semi-permanently be used such that replacement is unnecessary.
