PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the defoamability of a cardiotomy section.
SOLUTION: The cardiotomy section 2 has a filter 10 and a defoaming material 20 arranged on the inner side of the filter. The lower end 11a of the filter is sealed or folded in an almost linear fashion or in a curved fashion. The defoaming material has a dual structure on the upper side and a single structure on the lower side. In addition, the defoaming agent is arranged along the inner circumference of the filter in such a way that at least a part of the lower end of the defoaming agent substantially reaches the lower end of the inside of the filter.
