An anal probe (100) for use in connection with anal irrigation is provided. The probe comprises a tip (130) part and shaft (120) part, which may be separate from each other. The probe is provided with retention means (110), which together with the tip part and the shaft part define a lumen (112). The probe is further provided with a pressure-sensitive valve. The probe has two configurations, a first configuration (FIG1A) in which the inlet (136) to the tip channel is closed and a second configuration (FIG 1B) in which the inlet is opened. The transition between the first configuration and the second configuration is controlled by the pressure-sensitive valve. During use, irrigation fluid will be pumped into the lumen and the inlet to the tip channel will be opened.
