There is disclosed a sled test apparatus for simulating a vehicle crash. The test apparatus is particularly configured to simulate a vehicle crash involving an intrusion into the cabin (4) of the vehicle (1), as occurs, for example, in a so-called "small overlap" or "offset" impact. The apparatus has a sled carriage (11) and a test buck (15). The sled carriage (11) is mounted for linear movement along a test axis (14), and the test buck (15) includes a first structure (16) mounted to the carriage (11) for guided movement relative to the carriage. The apparatus is characterised in that the test buck (15) further includes a second structure (17) mounted to the carriage, and wherein the first structure (16) is configured to move relative to the second structure (17) during said guided movement.
