Disclosed is a hand-held device for electrically powered skin treatment. The hand-held device includes a base (2), a first outer electrode (7), a second outer electrode (20), an electrical energy source and a cap (3). The first outer electrode (7) is in contact with the hand when the device is held in the user’s hand for use. The first outer electrode (7) is provided on the base (2). The second outer electrode (20) is placed on the area of skin to be treated. The electrical energy source includes poles that are electrically connected to the electrodes (7, 20) during operation of the device. The cap (3) is fitted detachably on the base (2). An electrically operated vibrator is fixed in or on the cap (3) and is adapted to vibrate the part of the device located on the area of skin to be treated.
