Disclosed is a hand-held device for electrically powered skin treatment. The device comprises a housing (41), a first outer electrode (7), a second outer electrode (20) and an electrical energy source (30). The first outer electrode (7) is in contact with the hand when the device is held in the user’s hand for use. The first outer electrode (7) is provided on the housing (41). The second outer electrode (20) can be placed on the area of skin to be treated. The electrical energy source (30) includes poles that are electrically connected to the electrodes (7, 20) during operation of the device. The source (30) is arranged in the housing (41). The housing is a housing (41) with an underside and an upper side. The second outer electrode (20) takes up almost the entire underside of the housing (41). The first electrode (7) is located peripherally on the outer edge of the upper side of the housing (41). An electrically operated vibrator (15) is fixed by a socket on the inner side of the side wall of the housing (41) forming the underside and is adapted to vibrate said side wall of the housing (41) together with the second electrode (20) when operated.
