The present invention relates to a motorized wheelchair (10) comprising :- a frame (2), defining a longitudinal direction and a lateral directionperpendicular to said longitudinal direction,- a battery support assembly (6) for supporting at least one battery box (13),saidbattery support assembly (6) being connected to said frame (2),- first and second power drive assemblies (5a, 5b) disposed on each lateralsideof the wheelchair (10), each assemblies (5a, 5b) comprising a motor (14a, 14b)and a gearbox assembly (15a, 15b),- first and second rear wheels (3a, 3b) respectively driven by said first andsecond power drive assemblies (5a, 5b),- first and second castor wheels (4a, 4b) pivotally connected to said frame(2),wherein said first and second power drive assemblies (5a, 5b) are directlyfixed on the batterysupport assembly (6),wherein said battery support assembly is pivotally connected to said frame byfirst connectingmeans, so that said battery support assembly can pivot around a firstlongitudinal axis, andwherein said battery support assembly is pivotally connected to said firstconnecting meansby second connecting means, so that said battery support assembly can pivotaround a secondlateral axis.
