Accommodation box for the modified approach method. A new equipment is presented that allows the measurement of the amplitude of accommodation by the modified approach method. It consists of a box of a lightweight material that includes a set of sheets with variable-size optotypes that are replaced, but that maintain the subtending angle at the distance corresponding to each size. The greatest advantage is the similar value of the amplitude of accommodation to that obtained with the negative lens procedure. This new device eliminates the errors of the test, such as overestimation or undervaluation of the amplitude of accommodation.Caja de acomodación para el método de acercamiento modificado.#Se presenta un nuevo equipo que permite la medida de la amplitud de acomodación por el método de acercamiento modificado.#Consiste en una caja de un material ligero en el que se incluyen un conjunto de láminas con optotipos de tamaño variable y que se van sustituyendo, pero que mantienen el ángulo que subtiende a la distancia correspondiente a cada tamaño.#La mayor ventaja es el valor parecido de la amplitud de acomodación al obtenido con el procedimiento de la lente negativa. Este nuevo dispositivo elimina los errores de la prueba, como son la sobrestimación o la infravaloración de la amplitud de acomodación.
