An extendable frame 100 for use in enveloping a subject wherein the frame can be extended to change one of its dimensions and alter the volume. The frame may have a pair of rectangular sub frames 106 connected by arms 104 to form a cuboid. Further support arms with push fit attachments may be provided. A pin or a screw threaded key may be used to secure the arms at a given length. A cover may be provided to surround the frame 100 and may include loops, straps, ties or elasticated corners for attachment. A bag may also be provided to carry the device in an unassembled form. The device may be made of fibreglass and weigh less than 10kg. Also disclosed is a method of enveloping a subject which may be a deceased person.
