The present invention relates to injectable, extended-release, pharmaceutical formulations comprising a nalbuphine ester prodrug homogenously dissolved in a solution comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable oil and an oil-miscible retaining solvent, as well as manufacturing processes and medical uses of the formulations.
