PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a winding-up operation resume instantaneously even if the winding-up operation by a motor becomes impossible by drag operations.SOLUTION: A device 13 for driving a spool drives the spool 10 and includes a motor 12, a reverse rotation-prohibiting part 23, a first rotary transmission mechanism 24, a second rotary transmission mechanism 25 and a braking mechanism 26. The reverse rotation-prohibiting part 23 prohibits the reverse rotation of the motor 12 in a line-delivery direction. The first rotary transmission mechanism 24 has a planetary reduction gear mechanism 42 linked with the motor 12 and transmits the rotation of the motor 12 to the spool 10. The second rotary transmission mechanism 25 is provided by including a drag mechanism 28, being linked with a second carrier 68 of the planetary reduction gear mechanism 42 and transmitting the rotation of a handle 2 rotatively attached to a reel body 1 in a line-winding-up direction to the spool 10 through the planetary reduction gear mechanism 42.
