PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods and compositions useful for detecting autoimmune disorders.SOLUTION: A method for detecting the presence of SLE (systemic lupus erythematous) in a subject includes determining whether a sample cell obtained from the subject expresses gene combination at a level greater than the expression level of the respective genes in a normal reference sample, wherein the gene combination comprises (i) EPSTI1, HERC5, and TYKI and/or (ii) IFI44L, CIG5, and IFI44L, wherein the presence of the cell that expresses the gene combination at a higher level indicates that the subject has SLE.
