Diagnostic device for detecting tissue sample i.e. helicobacter pylori, has electrodes partially immersed in container, where change in electric variable is measured between electrodes when ammonia presented in electrodes
The device (1) has a set of electrodes (4, 5) made of acid-fast noble metal and silver, respectively. The electrodes are partially immersed in a container (2) that is filled with an acidic nutrient solution (3), and a tissue sample (6) i.e. helicobacter pylori, is introduced into the nutrient solution. Electrical voltage (U) is applied between the electrodes for a predetermined time period, and a change in an electric variable is measured between the electrodes when ammonia is presented in the electrodes. The acidic nutrient solution includes urea. The electrodes include a silver-chloride layer and platinum and gold, respectively.
