PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food material mixer in which the vinegared rice in a mixing drum can be cooled easily and efficiently.SOLUTION: The food material mixer includes: the mixing drum which is supported freely rotatably by a mechanical frame and is used for housing the food material an agitating member which is arranged in the mixing drum and is used for agitating the food material an introduction part for introducing cooling air into the mixing drum and a control unit for controlling rotation of the mixing drum and is constituted so that a plurality of food materials are mixed with one another by rotating the mixing drum to lift and drop the plurality of food materials by the agitating member. When the food material is cooled by the cooling air, the control unit stops the rotation of the mixing drum when the agitating member assumes a lifting posture of the food material.
