PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope constituted so as to be capable of inserting only the insertion part protruded from a protective pipe into an observation target region only by one protective pipe.
SOLUTION: The endoscope is equipped with the protective pipe 50 which is freely detachable with respect to the leading end side in the insertion direction S of an operation part 3 and covers the outer periphery of the insertion part 2 along the insertion direction S after mounting and constituted so as to make the covering length in the insertion direction S of the protective pipe 50 variable with respect to the insertion part 2 by making it possible to vary the length of the protective pipe 50 in the insertion direction S.
