PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dissolve the problem in which a location of a desired tracking target may be possibly different from a location actually tracked.SOLUTION: A transmission/reception control section 206 controls transmission of an ultrasonic wave toward a blood vessel and reception of a reflection wave. A setting section 232 sets a signal range included with a signal portion for tracking movement of a vascular wall of a blood vessel in association with pulsation out of a reception signals of the reflection wave obtained at first timing and a signal waveform template within the signal range. Subsequently, a detection section 239 detects second timing when a signal waveform of the signal portion corresponding to the signal range of the reception signal and the signal waveform template satisfy predetermined corresponding conditions.
