PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for quickly lowering the once increased TEWL (transepidermal water loss) to break out vicious cycle to the skin.
SOLUTION: The skin care preparation contains (1) one or more compounds selected from ursolic acid, its salt and its ester and (2) an extract of Ouren (Coptis japonica Makino) of the family Ranunculaceae. The one or more compounds selected from ursolic acid, its salt and its ester preferably contain benzyl ursolate, and the extract of Ouren of the family Ranunculaceae preferably contains 0.05-1 mass% coptisine.
