The method of analysis of the selected embryo of a monocotyledonous plant, comprising. cutting a portion of the flap tissue from said isolated embryo, characterized in that said cutting does not cause a significant decrease in the germination ability of said isolated embryo; and b. analysis of the scapular tissue site for the presence or absence of one or more characteristics indicating the presence of at least one genetic trait. 2. A method according to claim 1, characterized in that said monocotyledonous plant is maize, sorghum, wheat, rice, barley, oats, rye, millet, sugarcane, triticale or rod millet. 3. A method according to claim 1, characterized in that said isolated embryo is obtained from a seed or extracted from other tissues. A method according to claim 1, characterized in that said isolated germ is immature. A method according to claim 1, characterized in that said isolated embryo is capable of germination with the formation of a plant after cutting out a specified portion of the scab tissue. A method according to claim 1, characterized in that said isolated germ is fresh or chilled. A method according to claim 1, characterized in that said portion of the scab tissue is lyophilized, fresh, frozen or chilled after sampling. A method according to claim 1, characterized in that said portion of the scab tissue is equal to one core or larger than one core.
