PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod enhanced in collapse breakage and bending rigidity by further improving a fishing rod of which the socket-and-spigot core part is constituted of an outside cylindrical socket-and-spigot core material and an inside rodlike socket-and-spigot core part.SOLUTION: A first rod 2 and a second rod 5 are connected through the socket-and-spigot core material 6 mounted over the rod base end part 2A of the first rod 2 and the rod leading end part 5A of the second rod 5. The socket-and-spigot core material 6 is constituted of the outside cylindrical socket-and-spigot core part 7 and the inside rodlike socket-and-spigot core part 8 internally fitted in the outside cylindrical socket-and-spigot core part 7.
