PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sediment improving material which can suppress an increase in chemical oxygen demand and generation of hydrogen sulfide, and can prevent pH of sediment from becoming alkaline (for example, 9.0 or higher).SOLUTION: The sediment improving material for applying to the sediment and for suppressing the increase in chemical oxygen demand and the generation of hydrogen sulfide caused by a component contained in the sediment comprises a calcium silicate-containing powder and granular material.
