The present invention relates to an irrigation water supply system using multiple water sources and a method for operating the same. The irrigation water supply system using multiple water sources comprises: a pipeline part which includes a plurality of distribution lines spaced apart from each other at predetermined intervals in a crop cultivation place where crops are being cultivated, and a water supply line configured such that one end thereof is connected to ground water in order to supply the ground water to the distribution lines and the other end of thereof is connected to a water storage tank in order to supply rain water, stored in the water storage tank, to the distribution lines and also configured to communicate with the distribution lines at a plurality of points a sensor part which is provided to detect the state of the crop cultivation place, the amount of ground water, and the amount of rain water accommodated in the water storage tank and a control unit which is installed in the pipeline part in order to selectively supply the ground water or rain water to the distribution lines via the water supply line based on the information detected by the sensor part. Accordingly, provided is an effect in which water obtained from multiple water sources can be stored in the water storage tank, and thus can be used as agricultural water in an emergency situation, such as a drought, thereby minimizing damage to crops in the emergency situation. Furthermore, even when a crop cultivation facility is distant from a residence location, information regarding the cultivation of crops can be checked via automatic irrigation water supply control, and thus the crops can be effectively cultivated, thereby reducing required manpower.
