Heteroaromatic compounds of Formula I: (I) are HIV reverse transcriptase inhibitors, wherein R1, R2, R3 R4 and R5 are defined herein. The compounds of Formula I and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts are useful in the inhibition of HIV reverse transcriptase, the prophylaxis and treatment of infection by HIV and in the prophylaxis, delay in the onset or progression, and treatment of AIDS. The compounds and their salts can be employed as ingredients in pharmaceutical compositions, optionally in combination with other antivirals, immunomodulators, antibiotics or vaccines.Los compuestos heteroaromáticos de Fórmula I: (Ver Formula) (I) son inhibidores de la transcriptasa inversa del VIH, en la que R1, R2, R3, R4 y R5 se definen en este documento los compuestos de fórmula I y sus sales farmacéuticamente aceptables son útiles en la inhibición de la transcriptasa inversa del VIH, la profilaxis y el tratamiento de la ¡nfección por VIH y en la profilaxis, retraso en la aparición o progresión, y tratamiento del Sida los compuestos y sus sales pueden emplearse como ingredientes en composiciones farmacéuticamente, opcionalmente junto con otros antivirales, inmunomoduladores, antibióticos o vacunas.
