The present disclosure provides low pH fibers that are treated with additives, preferably after regenerating the cellulosic fiber, to control the pH and oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) in an aqueous environment where the fiber is placed. The low pH fibers can be formed into fibrous articles such as tampons or wipes. The low pH fibers with the additives provide health benefits to the user in that they hinder the ability of harmful bacteria to flourish.La présente invention concerne des fibres à bas pH traitées à laide dadditifs, de préférence après régénération de la fibre cellulosique, pour réguler le pH et le potentiel doxydoréduction (Oxidation-Reduction Potential, ORP) dans un environnement aqueux où est placée la fibre. Les fibres à bas pH peuvent être mises sous la forme darticles fibreux tels que des tampons ou des lingettes. Les fibres à bas pH comportant les additifs ont des effets bénéfiques sur la santé des utilisateurs dans la mesure où elles entravent la prolifération des bactéries nocives.
